Current Vacancies

Position:  Civil Engineering CAD Technician

Location:  Glasgow

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician  with experience of PDS^TM and WinDes^TM to augment our Civils team.  You will be an integral member of the team responsible for the production of drawing media for issue to our Clients and fellow Design Team members.  Some site attendance will be required.  You will be involved in:

• Developing Engineers sketches and overmarks to full production drawings for civil engineering works.
• Be able to develop construction details, section, etc as required.
• Carry out design of vertical and horizontal road alignment and foul and surface water drainage systems to comply with Local Authority Roads Engineer, Flood Prevention Officer, Scottish Water & SEPA.
• Have a good working knowledge of PDS^TM and WinDes^TM.
• Coordinate roads and drainage applications and liaise/negotiate approvals with regulators.
• Liaise with the Project Engineer on issues requiring clarification or structural input.
• You will be working on a wide portfolio of projects across all sectors.

The Candidate: You will be a key member of the team reporting to and working alongside the Project Engineer to ensure the delivery of outputs meet the Clients brief.  You will have the technical skills that will allow you to be confident in your position and will be able to work both under your own initiative and as part of a team to suit both size and complexity of the Project.

You will have an HNC and/or 3 years minimum post qualification experience.  You will be able to demonstrate experience of working in similar role.

 The role will offer you the opportunity to progress through your professional career becoming a key member of the team in the Dunfermline Office.

A full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Position:  Geo-Environmental Engineer

Location:  Glasgow

Within the practice we have a dedicated geotechnical team who provide specialist support and advice to our project engineers in both offices.

 The Candidate:  You will be key member of the team reporting to the Project Engineer to ensure the delivery of outputs to meet the Clients brief.  You will have the technical skills that will allow you to be confident in your position and will be able to work both under you own initiative and as part of a team to suit both size and complexity of the Project.  Excellent oral and written communuication skills are essential for regular client liaison and technical report writing.

You will have a degree in geology, environmental sciences, civil engineering or equivalent.  You will have experience of:

• Dealing with regulators (Local Authority, SEPA, etc) regarding land remediation proposals.
• Inspection & Reporting for the purpose of Validation Remediation works.
• Managing Ground Investigation contracts in accordance with BS10175, SISG Specification, BS5930 & BS1377.
• Undertaking Ground Investigation work within soils & minerals in accordance with BS5930 1999 Amendment 1, BS EN ISO 14688 & BS EN ISO 14689.

The role will offer you the opportunity to progress through your professional career and project manage contaminated land studies throughout the UK.  In addition you shall receive a competitive remuneration package.  You will require a full UK Driving Licence.
